I might move to LA but I'm having second thoughts, help?

I live with my mom currently and we are considering moving up to my grandparent's property for a year and then moving to LA. We really don't have any logical reasons except for the fact that we need a change in scenery. My family has been through a lot these past few years and I think staying in the same area is just making things worse. I would love living in LA but it's far from everything I know. I just don't know if I'm ready for a step that big in my life. If you live there could you tell me some of the perks LA has for an aspiring musician?
