In the time of Jesus, what type of architecture, technology etc. was there?

I need to know if the Roman structures dominated the Jewish or not. Also, what types of inventions did they have, how did they provide of food and water, what interaction between urban and rural areas was there, what sort of jobs were open? Any answers would be much appreciated! xox Thanks.
